How to play Flip & Spell.
A grid of cards, most of them face down. Somewhere in there, a word is waiting. Your job is to find it in as few flips as you can.
The idea, in one line.
Remember where the matching letters are, pair them up, and spell the theme. Fewest flips wins. That’s the whole game.
Flip two cards. Find the pair.
Every hidden letter has a match somewhere on the board. Flip one, then flip another. If they match, they stay up. If they don’t, they turn back over, and now you know a little more than you did a second ago.
Spell the theme.
Every puzzle has a theme, and the theme is the point. Eastern Europe. Film Noir. Walter White. As the pairs land, the letters fill in and the answer comes into focus. Half the fun is the moment you catch the reference.
Fewest flips wins.
Solve it in the fewest possible moves and you get a “Perfect.” Miss a few and you still finish. There’s no timer pushing you, and no way to lose.
Put it down whenever you want.
No countdowns, no lives, no streak counting the days you skip. Set it down mid puzzle and pick it up next week. The game waits. It’s the book on your nightstand, not the slot machine in your pocket.
